You may not have noticed, but the City of Hull made a big change today. We officially switched our method of disinfecting the water we provide to your house from chlorination to chloramination. This method of disinfecting water is used by many water providers, including Lewis & Clark Regional Water System, and we are preparing to receive water from them, potentially by the beginning of April. Chloramines last longer in the water as it travels through pipes and produces fewer disinfection byproducts than chlorine.
This has been a big process in the works. We extend a huge thank you to our Water Superintendent, Brent Kleinwolterink, for all the work, testing and preparation he has completed to make this switch happen!
