The Hull City Council consists of five council members elected at large for overlapping terms of four years. The council
has the duties and power to make policies, provide fiscal authority, elect employees, and make improvements for the
City of Hull.
Actions by council: The passage of an ordinance, amendment, or resolution requires a majority vote of all members of the
council. Passage of a motion requires a majority vote of a quorum of the council. A resolution must be passed to spend
public funds in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars($25,000) on any one project, or to accept public improvements and
facilities upon their completion. Each council member's vote on a measure must be recorded. A measure which fails to
receive sufficient votes for passage shall be considered defeated.

Regular council meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of every month. The time of each council meeting is at
5:00 pm in the Hull City Council Chambers.

All meetings are set by a special notice that is sent to the local newspapers, radio stations, and hung in the lobby of the
city office 24 hours before the meeting occurs. The notice states the agenda of the upcoming meeting.
